Ireland (1 down, 11 to go!)

This summer, I set a goal to visit twelve countries by the end of 2025. This will definitely be a stretch considering my energy levels are still low. I’m limited in walking due to motorbike injuries and I also have to manage getting around with an urostomy (I had my bladder removed so I need to bag my wee!) But nothing gets you going, so THEY say, like a time limited goal!

The first country is an easy one for me. Living in the port town of Holyhead means there’s a ferry to Ireland on my doorstep. Coupled with it being a nice sunny day with lovely sea conditions made this a pleasure. Luckily, Stena were running a Duty Free offer which meant the whole round trip only cost a mere £12 (plus a bottle of whiskey and gin, but let’s not count them!)

It was a straightforward affair, a short walk along the new Dublin port path and back on for the return a couple of hours after arriving.

I’ve put together a short video of the trip. My first so don’t expect too much. At the end of the video is a short slideshow of some photographs I took on the day.

So on to country #2. Where to go? I’ll update here when it’s in the bag.
